Week 11: Testing Our New Direction (colors)

Updated: Dec 29, 2021

This week we continued to advance in the development and accuracy of the home screen. We redesigned the home screen, eliminated certain objects that were found to be worthless to both the user and us, the app developers. We decided that the screen should be minimalist and simple. The flow of the home screen goes through two main stages: the stage where the user chooses a color that is supposed to express his current feeling, and the second stage is a power button, which is colored in the color the user has chosen to make him feel empathetic. The text on the button offers the user to share the feelings and sensations and clicking on it will move it to the next screen.

In order to test the home screen we did Guerrilla Testing on three potential users which led us to interesting insights. The first is that associating colors with emotions is a subjective thing. The choice of colors on the screen is intended to generate empathy for the user and not in favor of collecting data on his moods. The "someone understands me" feeling that teens need is obtained when the home screen becomes the color of choice and "identifies" with the user in their sense at that moment. The second is that it is necessary to write new text for the button, which will make it clear to the user what the purpose of the next screen is. We also realized that one of our goals when using the app, beyond venting emotions is to enhance their sense of ability and satisfaction at the end of using the app. The goal is that after users unload their feelings and emotions onto the mod board, they will be proud of their result. For this purpose, we will define templates that will arrange the sharing functions (text, sound, stickers) for different compositions for the user to choose.

In the technology axis we started thinking about what to do in MVP. When we thought of the main feature in the app we realized that this is the option that the user has to share his feelings with the help of writing. We manipulated the splash page that takes the user to a home page. On the home page the user has the option to add his feeling to the diary. In addition, the user has the option to look at publications from his past in the calendar displayed on another page.

We look forward to continuing to advance in creating our app and implementing other important features that will give the user the most comfortable and best user experience

We are curious to see how our home screen will continue to change and upgrade. Stay tuned!
